Steering Stem, Aluminium, SV650

Aluminium Steering Shaft for the Suzuki SV650.

This is a direct replacement for the standard steel shaft and reduces weight without compromising strength.

Standard steel shaft weighs 640g, whereas this aluminium shaft weighs in at a mere 290g.

Additional weight saving possible by using TYLY-0048 aluminium top nut in place of the standard nut and washer.

To fit, press out the standard steel shaft. Remove the location circlip and fit to the aluminum shaft. Then we advise warming the steel lower clamp up, and freezing the shaft. This will allow easier mating of the parts. We use castor oil when pressing together as this has high lubricity and film strength.
